Consumer text for the ILT-coach pilot, for the page linked from the front door. An institutional data agreement (FERPA, who controls the data, what happens at the end of term) is a separate document the university will ask for; this page is not it.

What we hold
- A nickname you choose.
- A four-digit PIN, stored salted and hashed, never as the digits.
- Your own work: your findings on your Thinking Board, your conversations with the Coach, your quiz answers, the texts you chose to read, and anything you upload.
What we never hold
No email, no real name, no phone number, no location. Please keep them out of your nickname and messages too.
Who sees what
- You see everything we hold about you. Your Mentor conversations (study habits, careers, a bad week) are yours alone.
- Your professor sees the class's patterns without names (where the class stalls, which hints help) and the official record the course already keeps (exams, graded work). Your own step-by-step work reaches your professor only if you share it: off until you turn it on, shareable in part, revocable at any time.
- A narrow alarm: two weeks with no activity, or a sharp drop in progress, may be flagged so someone can offer help. It uses only activity and results, never what you said to the Coach, and you are told when it fires.
- Intelligent Learning Technology sees de-identified process data (time to master a concept, turns before a breakthrough, which hints work, breaks and returns, reliance on the Coach over the term) to learn what works. Never Mentor conversations.
- The AI provider. The Coach's replies come from an AI model run by a third-party provider; what you type in a conversation is sent to it to write the reply.
We never sell data, and nothing is used for advertising.
Your rights
From My space you can read everything we hold about you, download it (a readable copy and a raw file), and delete it. Deletion removes your account and your work from the app. De-identified counts already in our statistics cannot point back to you, and stay.
The Coach is an AI
The Coach is software, not a person, and says so.
If you are in danger
If you write something that suggests danger, the Coach gives you crisis resources at once (in the US, call or text 988, the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline; your campus counseling center) and stays in the conversation. It does not call, alert or share anything automatically, and cannot know where you are. If you need help now, call 988 or 911.
Cookies and storage on your device
Your browser keeps the course access code, your sign-in (a secure cookie) and your lesson progress. No advertising cookies, no tracking across sites.
How long we keep it
Until you delete it or the pilot ends, whichever comes first. You can download yours before the end; then it is deleted unless the university's agreement says otherwise.
Changes
If this page changes, its date changes and the app tells you.
